PBA, now part of Stantec, are on the lookout for a talented individual to join our contracts department here in Reading.  This is a great opportunity to be part of a great team as well as developing your career in contracts management.  We will offer an initial 12 month contract with the potential to extend at the end.

As our Assistant Contracts Manager, you will have the opportunity to use your creativity and innovation to put your stamp on the role.  We encourage new ideas and you’ll be given great scope to make a difference.  Our contracts team is constantly looking to improve our systems and processes and you will play a key role in improving our function.

This is a risk management / legal role where you’ll support the business in effectively managing its contractual agreements with clients and suppliers.  To be successful, You’ll need to be meticulous in your approach and have strong attention to detail. 

Duties will include the following:-

Contracts review – Assist, support and participate in the review process of bespoke contracts with clients, sub-consultants and other suppliers, including:

  • help with the identification of risks on contractual matters;

  • help and promote the contracts governance during the drafting, negotiation, execution and archiving of bespoke contracts;

  • help in the continuous development and maintenance of robust procedures regarding anything contractual; and

  • liaison with stakeholders and third parties.

Contractual templates - Provide support and assist in keeping the Legal/Contracts templates up to date.

Training – Provide support and assist in the delivery of training by the Risk Management team, including providing training to junior business stakeholders to mitigate contractual issues.

Administrative & other tasks– Generally assist the Contracts Manager (or equivalent) and the risk management / legal team in its role and perform some administrative tasks to support the team.

  • Excellent communication skills oral and written in English
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to details
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Able and eager to learn new skills
