The Opportunity

Have you ever thought about the world around you – the streets, the buildings, the stuff that’s hidden under your feet – and reckoned that you could do it cleaner, greener, better? Maybe a career in civil engineering is for you!

PBA, now part of Stantec, is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm. We’re home to engineers, scientists, planners and environmentalists.  We have been involved in loads of amazing projects in the South West including Bristol Airport, the old Concorde hangars at Filton, Portsmouth Naval Base, Centreparcs and Go Ape.

We have an opportunity for a Level 3 apprentice Transport Technician to join us on our award-winning programme in Bristol, starting in Summer/Autumn 2020. As an Apprentice at PBA, you will be part of an industry leading programme designed to develop the best Engineers.  We will pair you with an experienced engineer who will guide and mentor you through the initial phase of your career.  You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of some of our projects from start to finish. We will teach you how to use programs such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) to produce drawings for building and infrastructure projects.  You will learn technical skills such as civil engineering calculations and report writing.

The great thing about an apprenticeship is that you’ll be earning a salary straight away whilst getting your education paid for. You’ll get the chance to expand your knowledge by attending college one day a week on day release, while simultaneously learning from our industry experts on the job.

At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll come out with a professional qualification along with invaluable experience.

About you

No previous experience is required.  You will be a positive and proactive team player who demonstrates enthusiasm for engineering and a willingness to apply yourself in a workplace environment.

Here are the general skills we look for in our apprentices:

  • A keen interest in Transport Planning.
  • 5x GCSEs including a minimum of 5 or above in Maths and English.
  • A good level of computer literacy including MS Office.

We know that the friendly and collaborative culture at PBA is something we are proud of, but we have many other reasons for you to be excited about.  We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, industry leading training, agile and flexible working arrangements, great projects, and lots more.

PBA, now part of Stantec is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We appreciate and celebrate differences and believe an open and diverse workforce benefits our employees and customers.

So, are you ready to help us to design the future? We’re looking forward to reading your application!

We want to hear from you!!!
