Stantec are looking to appoint a Structural Technician (BIM) in our busy multidisciplinary central London (Clerkenwell) practice.  Our portfolio of clients and work in London is expanding, and as such we are looking to add further experience to our team to support our ongoing growth and development.

Our busy multi-disciplinary teams work on a diverse range of projects and we are looking for someone to strengthen the design and delivery of our structural engineering projects through the use and application of Building Information Modelling (BIM). The successful candidate will form part of our diverse, highly skilled team in London and will have the opportunity to be involved on a wide range of building and structural design projects.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Support teams the digital delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects across the UK
  • Assist in the production designs, reports and BIM deliverables such as 3D Models, 2D drawings and non-graphical design data
  • Provide input into building and structural engineering designs and reports by foreseeing design challenges and providing practical solutions
  • Assist in the preparation reinforcement detail drawings and bending schedules
  • Liaise with other designers and external consultants to enable multidisciplinary design coordination of projects through the use of BIM
  • Assist with the development of technical CAD & BIM procedures and quality control

 

About You:

The successful candidate will be a positive, enthusiastic team player and will have/be:

  • HNC qualification in civil/structural engineering or equivalent is desirable, but not essential
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the wider engineering context of designs, drawings and 3D models
  • Able to demonstrate the wider engineering context of designs, drawings and 3D models
  • Good awareness of structural engineering and building detailing
  • Proficient in computer aided drawing (CAD) and the use of AutoCAD
  • Proficient in the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and the use of tools such as Revit in the production of building and structural designs
  • Awareness of UK Industry BIM, standards, protocols and procedures
  • Experience of reinforcement detailing and scheduling
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative
  • Computer literate in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
